A Little Reminder from September 2013 from Carol Pennington

Our Holiday at Les Gravelles - 20-27th September 2013

Blessed with beautiful weather.
Warm sunny days meant the fish didn't want to play during the day but still caught every night.
26 fish (carp) in all, largest 38.5 lbs.
Michael loved having the lake to himself and I lazed around the pool, swimming everyday (a little cold getting in but fabulous once wet)!

The beds were very comfortable as were the sofa's which is what you want after a hard days doing.......very little!!
Local towns (Ansac-Sur-Vienne and Confolens) are beautiful and the river looks very inviting.
May fish it next time...........
As for Pauline and John, they were wonderful and made us feel very at home.
We will be back........

And just to make us miss the lazy days of summer a little more, here are a great selection of images supplied by Carol

Happy 2014 To All Guests and Friends of Les Gravelles

Well 2014 has arrived and we have now started working on the list of jobs to be completed before the start of our new season.

One of the major jobs will be to remove the tops of all of the oak trees lining the woods by the house and swimming pool, these trees have now grown so tall that they are starting to shade the swimming pool in early September.   As John is not a lover of heights and the trees in question must be 20 metres high, I think that we may have a few hairy moments to come, I also think that John will be calling in assistance from our son David and son in law Sam, it is unlikely that we will see John 20 metres up in a telescopic any time soon.....

2014 is looking good for bookings, currently we only have dates available from 20th September onwards.

2015 is also going fast, with most of July and a big chunk of August already booked out.

My new years resolution is to remember to update this blog regularly, so I will be updating you all on the work as it progresses and any amusing mishaps as they happen.

Once again Happy 2014 to you all and we look forward to seeing you all again for a wonderful season of fishing holidays in the very near future.

Mid September 2013

Hi

Well another beautiful week at Les Gravelles is coming to an end, thunderstorms forecast for Saturday, so our guests this week have definately had the best of the weather.

We will let you know in the next few days how the fishing has been recently.

Also, we have now added the calendar and prices to the website for 2015, although all of the information is now available we are not going to start accepting bookings or enquires until 1st November.

Just to help us remember a lovely summer here are a few pictures taken by some of our guests.

Hi

Welcome to our new Les Gravelles Carp Fishing in France Blog

The end of another fantastic season is drawing nearer, after 2 fairly depressing weeks weather wise the summer has now returned with a vengeance, with temperatures expected to reach 29 degrees by Thursday.

Look out over the coming weeks for fishing updates, catch reports and news during our closed season on our upcoming works at Les Gravelles.

If you would be interested in hearing about anything in particular, please let us know.

Well that's it for now, short and sweet for our first blog, hopefully over the coming weeks we will have lots of items of interest for you and maybe a few amusing anecdotes as we attempt to reduce the height of some of the trees which cast their shadow over the pool in the late summer.
